Assist Ophthalmologist in diagnosing eye diseases and in performing eye surgery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Visual acuity measurement
Refractometry (measurements for the glasses prescription)
Tonometry (measure eye pressure)
Measure pupil size and reactivity
Test and measure eye muscle function
Visual field testing
Corneal thickness measurement
Corneal curvature measurement
Corneal topography
Retinal nerve fiber layer measurement
Retinal thickness and topography
Fluorescein angiography
A and B-scan ultrasonography
Assist with contact lens fitting, and patient instruction
Prepare for and assist with in-office procedures
Surgical assisting
Collecting medical history

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Experience with both contact lenses and glasses
Excellent customer service and sales skills required
Dexterity and technical skills

Education and Work Experience:

High School diploma
1 year of experience a plus

Certificates and Licenses Required:

Certified Opthalmic Technician
Minimum 5 years experience in lieu of certification
